About Ignite

Ignite® Small Business Start-ups is a social enterprise developed to facilitate small business creation for people from a refugee, migrant background, people with a disability, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and people from other marginalised communities who want to start their own business or expand an existing one.

Our vision is to turn passion into possibility by unleashing the potential of passionate entrepreneurs, to take greater control of their lives through self employment and business creation.

Timeline

2013

Commenced working with refugees & asylum seekers in Sydney

2015

Expanded to include people from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds

2016

Expanded to include people living with disability

2017

Expanded to refugee & asylum seekers in Brisbane via Access Community Services

2019

Expanded to new immigrants via ISSofBC, Vancouver, Canada

2020

Expanded to Regional NSW as a whole of community offering

2021

Expanded to the Indigenous community by invitation

2022

Ignite expanded in to East Gippsland, Greater Melbourne and officially launched our Ignite First program.
